The DAMn -We are proud to introduce The Day Across Minnesota, also known as The DAMn gravel road bicycle race. Racers will traverse 240 miles of Minnesota gravel roads by bicycle in a single day. That’s right, they will have 24 hours from start to finish. They will start in South Dakota and finish in Wisconsin. This event will take place in August of 2017. Registration details & more information will be coming soon.
Racers who attempt the 240 mile Day Across Minnesota gravel road bicycle race will start in Gary, South Dakota on Saturday August 5th 2017 as the clock strikes midnight. If they finish, they will finish no more than 24 hours later in Hager City, Wisconsin. This epic point-to-point adventure will require each racer to get themselves to the pre-race check-in on time, get themselves across the state of Minnesota by bicycle, and to get themselves home afterwards. *There are no shuttles and will be no on course support being provided by The DAMn.
The DAMn pre-race check-in will open at 6:00pm on Friday August 4th at the Buffalo Ridge Ballroom in Gary and will end promptly at 11:00pm. There will be a pre-race program from 11:00pm until 11:30pm. Afterwards, racers will gear up and head directly to the starting line. Checking in before 11:00pm and attending the pre-race program are both mandatory, so be there. The neutral roll-out happens promptly at midnight.
There will be 3 course check-points throughout the 240 mile day. Racers must make it to each check-point before the check-point cut-off time which will require racers to average a minimum of 10mph. If at any point throughout the day a racer does not make a check-point cut-off, they will not be given the means necessary to proceed.
These check-points will also contain neutral support zones for support crews if racers choose to bring one. Support can only be taken from crew members in the designated neutral support zones. This restriction will help keep our racers safer by having fewer vehicles on the course. Support can also be taken from fellow racers while on the course and from any establishment that a racer passes while on the course.
We understand and hope that the point-to-point logistics combined with the optional neutral support opportunity may increase the desire to car-pool and share support crews. Have a DAMn car? Need a DAMn crew? Head over to the Riding Gravel Forum DAMn Thread.
The Miesville FiftySix is a gravel road ride through some of the most beautiful parts of Dakota county and just minutes southeast of the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. We are gearing up for Sunday April 30th, 2017. It’s a mass roll-out at 8:30am sharp from the Miesville Mudhens stadium right in Miesville. The route will consist of 56 radical miles Dakota County and the Cannon River Valley. Many gravel enthusiasts have told us that this is one of their favorite rides of the year. That’s a big deal.
Not much will change for 2017. Some new updates, but nothing too dramatic.
The Miesville FiftySix is open to everyone and anyone who likes to ride bikes. We will be capping the event at 450 participants. The registration process will open on February 1st, 2017. Although postcards are cool, they are a lot of work, so we will be dialing it back and using a sign-up form via the google forms instead. This is cleaner, more legit, and easier to manage and manipulate. So, stay tuned.
Parking will be in the back lot of the Miesville Mudhens baseball stadium. Make sure you don’t park anywhere where it is roped off or states NO PARKING. We are very excited for the third annual Miesville FiftySix (PKA: Miesville Gravel Grinder).
The Miesville FiftySix is a true labor of love, people, and bikes. If you appreciate that concept, please help us keep it free.

When: APRIL 1st, 2017
Where: Start and Finish in Red Wing, using many of the cool roads in Goodhue and Wabasha Counties
How much?: Free, zero doll hairs…
Registration Details: Due to us wanting to keep our sanity, keep our costs down, and make sure that we can provide a good experience for the riders, we are capping the active roster at 150 riders On Black Friday weekend 2016 you can send in a POSTCARD
The Postcard MUST have the following information:
Here are a couple of things to keep our frustration down… we aren’t always necessarily jerks, so we won’t toss your card out, but still…
1) Write Legibly. If we can’t read your name and email it will be hard to get you officially on the roster.
2) Don’t send in a bunch of pieces of paper for you and your buddies in one envelope. They are NOT postcards.
3) Massive chunks of a box, while technically a postcard, can be annoying. If you are making your own hobo postcard please make it standard postcard size.
Postcards will be accepted from the day after Thanksgiving until December 31 (postmarked date). We’ll have a new address to send them to, which will be detailed out in a couple of weeks.
If you have any questions, feel free to post up a comment. I may have forgotten something too… who knows.
