The Dirty Thirty gravel bike race course consists of almost 90% gravel roads, the largest percentage of gravel compared to other gravel grinder bike races in West Michigan. The distance of the long course is, you guessed it, 30 miles. The short course is 14 miles.
The Dirty Thirty events will start and finish in downtown Saranac, just a short jaunt from Grand Rapids, MI. The first half of the course heads east into the open farm country, offering a combination of gently rolling hills and pancake flat gravel roads. The second half of the course brings you west into a hillier and more forested section of the course.
Cabot, Vermont’s Ride the Ridges is a “something for everyone” type of event. This event, where 100% of the proceeds go towards Cabot Connects, Cabot’s Mentoring Program, offers 4 different distance rides, each with multiple aid stations, plenty of gravel, hills, and scenic overlooks. We offer a 10k, 30k, 60k, and 100k ride, with staggered start times. The routes are well-marked and maps are provided. Almost all of the riding is on gravel roads and trails, and the scenery is breathtaking. For those looking for a challenging ride, the 100k offers plenty of challenge, complete with over 7500 ft of elevation gain.
The aid stations are stocked with plenty of energy-rich food, including granola bars, trail mix, maple-syrup shots, freshly picked local apples, freshly made maple donuts, pickles, bananas, plenty of water and gatorade, and even specialty cheeses and crackers – and more! Following the ride, we deck out the Cabot Green with a mobile wood-fired pizza oven for handmade pizzas with all-natural ingredients, more specialty cheeses, and lots, lots more!! This is a terrific event put on by terrific people and supporting a terrific cause.
