THE WATERMOO

August 8 @ 7:11 am 2:00 pm

THE WATERMOO is an 88-mile gravel road race on mostly gravel, some tarmac and a road that is no longer a road with a river crossing in the farmlands of southeastern Michigan. To successfully complete THE WATERMOO requires one to work hard, patiently and methodically like the water oxen that once roamed the land of Waterloo, Michigan.

Dirty Pecan 2018 – 60, 80, 100 & 150 mile Dirt Road Epic

March 7 @ 8:00 am 5:00 pm

Escape the winter and join fellow dirt/gravel cycling enthusiasts in North Florida on this FREE ride of your choice of 60, 80, 100 or 150 miles on some of the most scenic dirt roads in the southeast. These scenic and rural routes are mostly unpaved, so a cyclocross bike or mountain bike is necessary. You’ll wind through grand southern plantations, oak canopies, farmland and pecan orchards on red clay and dirt. Pavement has been kept to an absolute minimum. New for 2018, we’ve added an 80-mile option, which cuts out one of the sandiest sections of the 100-mile route.

This is an UNSUPPORTED ride: there is NO support, NO sag stops, NOR support vehicles. The course will NOT be marked, and there will be NO printouts prior to the ride. YOU are 100% responsible for YOU, YOUR equipment, YOUR navigation, and YOUR own food and drink. If you need a juice box and a hug every 20 miles, this is not the ride for you, please stay home.

Rides start at 8am sharp! Parking, full bathrooms & showers, and start/finish is at the UF Extension office 2.8 miles west of the traffic circle in Monticello, FL.

Camping is available for $5 at the start location, with bathrooms & showers. Bathrooms will be open all night, starting the evening of Friday, March 2. RV Campers: No hookups and no electric. Email bbarfield@jeffersoncountyfl.gov for camping reservations.*

Dirty Kitten Gravel Race

August 3, 2019 All day

DIRTY KITTEN GRAVEL RACE – AUGUST 3, 2019 @ LOCUST HILL FARM & PRESERVE
Presented by Vanderkitten-Entourage Racing

A gravel road race on private farm roads at the base of Cedar Mountain in Rapidan, Virginia.

Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Locust Hill Farm encompasses over 5,000 continuous acres of privately-owned land. Only 90 miles from the center of Washington, D.C., the farm is surrounded by untouched, historic land and borders Cedar Mountain (a.k.a. Slaughter’s Mountain) where a historic Civil War battle took place in 1862.

This race will explore Locust Hill Farm and Preserve on privately-owned gravel farm roads that run along the Robinson River, pass serene creeks and ponds, weave through open fields, and cross wooded forest trails. The area is truly a gravel enthusiast’s dream as well as a beautiful wildlife haven.

This is its inaugural year as an official gravel race (last year was a non-competitive gravel grinder).
