Shake and Brake -Launched in 2015, this gravel grinder is a choose-your-own-adventure day on a bike, with a course that meanders through the Talladega National Forest and is a rowdy mix of rocky Forest Service roads and single track trails that can be ridden on a mountain bike or a cyclocross rig. Each has advantages and disadvantages, so choose your weapon wisely—there are no separate categories based on the bike you ride. And remember, as Ricky Bobby always said, “If you ain’t first….you’re last!”
Distance: 45 miles. Either race it or do the recreational ride for fun. This year’s course is more gravel and less trail.
Elevation gain: Coming Soon
