Pensacola Off-Road Cyclists Presents:
The Scratch Ankle leaves from the Bear Lake Recreation Area, and rides a mixture of sandy red clay and paved roads of Blackwater River State Forest and Conecuh National Forest. The route travels through terrain with gently rolling forest roads, longleaf pine/wiregrass ecosystem (one of the largest continuous systems still remaining in Florida) and will include segments of single-track trails.
The 3rd Annual Scratch Ankle on March 24, 2018 provides multiple options for cyclists of all backgrounds and levels. There will be distance options of 30, 62 (100km), and 100 mi. All rides include rest stops, route marking and SAG support.
The 100k course option will serve as race #3 in the SGS series with racers competing for points to the overall series title. The event is also open to non-competitive riders who just want to enjoy the scenery and supported course.
The race is a fundraiser for the Pensacola Off-Road Cyclists
