Donnelly Strada USH 700 X 40mm Tires: Getting Rolling
Out of the box I felt that these tires looked great for most gravel road and dirt road riding. Donnelly says the side tread areas are a “scaled up herringbone” pattern, and while that is accurate, it does not give you the sense that I got when feeling the tread with my hands.
Gravel Grinder News: WTB Introduces Byway 700c Tires
WTB today released the news that their popular Byway model is now available in several 700c sizes with their TCS tubeless ready casings. IRC Boken Tires: At The Finish
Two words kept cropping up whenever Grannygear and I discussed these Boken 700 X 40mm and Boken Plus 650B X 47mm tires. Those words were fast and smooth. The IRC Boken models are some of the fastest and most comfortable tires we’ve tried.
Hutchinson Overide Tires: Getting Rolling
There were times when I got on top of a gear on the pavement and completely forgot that I was on a gravel tire. Now the WTB Resolutes are good rolling for what they are. The IRCs are a step up from them. The Hutchinson Overides are another level completely. I bet the 35s really fly.
Tioga Binary Tires: At The Finish
Tioga set out its claimed traits and goals for this tire and in my opinion, they have achieved them. The potential for “more” is the tantalizing bit that is still missing here. Tioga is well aware that riders are thinking this as well. Tubeless ready, maybe something in a wider width, and other possibilities with this design are things we at Riding Gravel would like to see going forward for the Binary.

Well, now one of you readers has asked for an update on that post, and I thought that was a great idea. So, in no particular order, here are my current Top Five Gravel Tires going into 2019.

WTB Venture 650B X 47mm Tires: At The Finish
Personally, I am a fan of the Road Plus tire, and the Venture is a big addition to the line. The size has just enough volume and width to allow it to get away with things, especially in the case of the Horizon and the Venture, that a tire like that has no business getting away with
IRC Boken Tires: Getting Rolling
The IRC Boken tire line consists of two 650B models and two 700c models. There is a 650B X 47mm and 42mm offerings, and a 700c X 36mm and 40mm size offerings. IRC also offers the Serac in two different 700c X 32mm sizes and an interesting 700c X 28mm offering in the Marbella.
